Fresh water pearls

Freshwater pearls are the most common and affordable in pearl jewelry. They are grown in a smaller species of freshwater shell fish found in waters in China, Japan, and United States.

These pearls are generally smaller and less expensive. Because they are not as round and lustrous as other valuable ones, a pearl necklace of freshwater pearls are more popular in unique designer jewelry which displays artistic styles and creations.
